LBS Financial Awards $1,000 Scholarship

LBS Financial offered a new $1,000 scholarship in 2010 that could be applied for by any LBS Financial Member in their final year of high school or first three years of college.  One winner for the $1,000 scholarship is selected by a Credit Union employee committee each year. Kellie Graham, who will be attending USC in the fall, was selected as the 2010 Scholarship Winner.

LBS Financial Awards 31 Student Scholarships

Each year, LBS Financial encorages local are high schools, adult schools and community colleges to participate in their scholarship program by recommending students for an award. This year, 31 scholarships were awarded to high school, college and adult school students.

LBS Financial Reaches Out to Lions Club International

LBS Financial Employees and Members donated 1,240 eyeglasses, 107 cell phones and 16 hearing aids to Lions Club International from September, 2009 through June, 2010.

LBS Financial in the 2010 AIDS Walk Long Beach

LBS Financial staff, their friends and family joined the California Credit Union League's (CCUL) Beach Cities Chapter team in the 2010 AIDS Walk Long Beach on June 5, 2010. Together as a team, they raised over $5,000 to donate to the Long Beach and South Bay HIV agencies.

LBS Financial Employees Make Holiday Toy Donation

LBS Financial Credit Union employees donated hundreds of toys, books and blankets to the children of Comprehensive Child Development (CCD) during their Staff Holiday Breakfast on December 16, 2009.

2009 Belmont Shore Christmas Parade

More than 45 staff and family volunteers including LBS Financial Credit Union President and CEO, Jeffrey Napper joined together on December 5, 2009 to participate in the 2009 Belmont Shore Christmas Parade in Long Beach.

LBS Financial Home Buyer's Seminars

LBS Financial offered four free Home Buyer's Seminars conducted by Josie Truong during the months of October and November 2009. Members who attended the entire one hour seminar received a coupon for a free appraisal ($350+ value) that may be used on a home loan purchase or refinance through LBS Financial, at close of escrow (effective through December 31, 2009).

Jeffrey Napper Inducted into LBCC Hall of Fame

President and CEO of LBS Financial, Jeffrey Napper, was inducted into the Long Beach City College Hall of Fame on October 10, 2008. The LBCC Alumni Association Hall of Fame honors alumni who have made outstanding achievements in their chosen career field, service to the community and/or area of endeavor.
