LBS Financial Credit Union Employees Donate Hundreds of Toys to The Guidance Center in Long Beach
Long Beach, CA – December 13, 2019 – LBS Financial Credit Union employees donated hundreds of toys to The Guidance Center in Long Beach on December 11, 2019, as part of the Credit Union’s annual holiday breakfast.
Every year, LBS Financial hosts an employee holiday breakfast at an offsite location. The Credit Union selected The Guidance Center for this year’s employee gift donation hoping to make a positive difference in the lives of many children struggling with mental illness and abuse. The Guidance Center provides comprehensive mental health treatment to the community’s most disadvantaged children and their families struggling with mental illness and abuse, leading them toward a positive and productive future. The Guidance Center will provide these donated gifts to needy families who are unable to provide gifts for their children.
Over 200 LBS Financial employees attended this year’s breakfast, most bringing one or more unwrapped gifts for The Guidance Center. The Guidance Center’s Chief Development Officer, Lorraine Lyou and Marketing and Events Specialist, Julie Ruano attended the Credit Union’s holiday breakfast to accept the donation.
“We are incredibly moved and touched by the generosity of LBS Financial Credit Union,” said Lorraine Lyou, The Guidance Center’s Chief Development Officer. “The toys donated from your holiday party are going to make an incredible difference in the lives of the children that we serve at The Guidance Center.”
In previous years, LBS Financial employees donated toys and gifts to the Long Beach Police Foundation’s Toy Patrol, Long Beach Rescue Mission, United States Marines’ Toys for Tots Foundation, Miller Children’s Hospital, Comprehensive Child Development, Long Beach Day Nursery, Children Today, Project Shepherd, the Needy Family Project in Cerritos, Young Horizons, the WomenShelter of Long Beach, and ChildNet.
