LBS Financial Credit Union Donates School Supplies and Playground Equipment to Dooley Elementary in Long Beach
Long Beach, CA – November 7, 2022 – LBS Financial Credit Union delivered over 7,000 school supplies and playground equipment to Dooley Elementary in Long Beach on October 20, 2022 as their adopted school in Long Beach Unified School District for this year.
The school provided a wish list of items to LBS Financial in the spring of 2022. Their wish list included a variety of classroom supplies and playground equipment including playground balls, frisbees, backpacks, notebooks, markers, crayons, and more. During August, LBS Financial promoted a school supply drive with credit union members and employees at their Long Beach branch locations, on their social media, and website. Members and employees donated new school supplies during the month and the credit union also purchased thousands of dollars’ worth of supplies to fulfill the list.
“We were thrilled when LBS Financial Credit Union showed up with heaps and boxes of school supplies for our Dooley Dragons,” said Assistant Principal Kathleen Pekar. “It filled our hearts with possibility for our students. The Credit Union’s generous donation was exactly what we needed to start off our year with every essential school supply possible!”
This is LBS Financial’s twelfth year of adopting a school in Long Beach USD. LBS Financial also adopted two additional schools in ABCUSD and BUSD, delivering supplies to Burbank Elementary in late September, and Stephen Foster Elementary in early October.
